FFWD Tzatziki

I was surprised to see a recipe for Tzatziki in a French cookbook, but it's hard to argue with the results.  This was another quick, easy, and delicious recipe.  I wanted to serve it with the Eastern Mediterranean Pizza we're making for TWD, but by the time Charlotte and I finished our (very rare) afternoon nap it was too late to start the pizza.  So, pizza will wait until tomorrow (hopefully!) and we enjoyed the dip tonight with some plain cut vegetables.  The only thing that surprised me about this recipe was the portion size.  This makes a lot of Tzatziki.  We ate a lot tonight and hardly made a dent in it.  Luckily it's very versatile, so I'm hoping we'll find other ways to use it in the next couple of days.

  1. It would not have been the first recipe I expected to find - although, alot of different influences do make their way in AMFT.
I think naps definitely win out over pizza!

  2. This did make a lot, didn't it? I'm still working my way through it. I might try some leftovers with kebabs like I saw on some of the other Dorista's posts. Glad that you are getting some naps too, not just Charlotte.

  4. I halved my recipe and it still went a long way, but we did enjoy it. I will definitely repeat this
    again. Have a great weekend.

  5. The Eastern Mediterranean Pizza sounds scrumptious - but I would take a nap over pizza any day! I'll have to look that recipe up in BWJ. I was also surprised how much Dorie's recipe made - I'm going to be delivering some to neighbors.

  6. Jora, what a lovely tzatziki with fresh veggies - actually the idea of serving this Greek joghurt dip/sauce with the Middle Eastern Pizza for the TwD sounds pretty smart (have not been able to prepare Tuesday´s assignment either yet).
Have a wonderful weekend and hugs for Charlotte!

  7. Yes, it is a lot of Tzatziki but in true Mediterranean style there is enough for a family of 6 to stop by and share it with them. We actually ate our leftovers on Indian food. It works.

  9. You are right that this made a generous portion- I had forgotten about that when I knocked it out for Food Revolution Day but we were eating a ton and it still lasted. Thank goodness we liked it :) Good luck experimenting with the leftovers- it is pretty versatile. And kudos on the coordinated nap - well played :)

  10. What I loved about this is how much I could find to do with it. (Try dieter's tartine with this stuff!) Also the bonne idee for tomatoes. OMG. So good. So glad I finally got to this on a make up day...
